Guitarists know that friction points on a guitar are the bane of tuning stability. ABM’s Rollernuts use 6 different rollers, one for each string, to eliminate friction at the nut. It is recommended to install these on a guitar with locking machine heads or a string retainer, to prevent strings jumping out of the nut. Secret tip: The rollernuts are designed for use with string gauges from .010 to .046!
Important: Installing the rollernut requires a permanent modification to your guitar! You will need to shave off 2.45mm off the end of your fretboard. Please call a professional luthier to help you with the installation process if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself.
Once the hassle of the installation is through, though, guitarists will find themselves enamoured with the tuning stability of this unique product. Tremolo users who do not wish to use a Floyd Rose or similar bridge will get great mileage from this cheaper, simpler alternative.
